The Walnut Room: the bed and the big window onto the walnut tree

The New Barn, 1869

The Walnut Room

In the attic of the New Barn, finished in 2020. When we drew it, we were thinking of summer nights in a barn, lying on the hay and looking at the stars. The roof has two layers of tiles, visible from inside the room. The big window looks onto a walnut tree two hundred years old.

In the room

  • The old roof tiles, left visible from inside
  • A washbasin carved from a wooden bowl by craftsmen in Sibiu
  • Decorative tiles from Mediaș
  • A skylight of clear glass bricks

In short

  • The New Barn, 1869, in the attic
  • A window onto the two-hundred-year-old walnut tree
  • Private bathroom
  • Breakfast included
