The Blue House, 1912 · 3–4 guests
Johann’s Room
The “good room” of the Blue House. In Saxon homes this is where guests were received, so it has always been the best room in the house. We kept the ceiling beams as they were: on one of them, Johann Dootz carved the year he built the house, 1912, and his signature.
In the room
- The original beams, with Johann’s year and signature
- A painted bench from 1818 and a painted chest of drawers
- A stove of painted tiles from Teracota Mediaș, the last factory in Romania still making hand-pressed, hand-painted stove tiles, as it has since 1906
- A bathtub with carved wooden legs, and painted terracotta tiles in the bathroom
The drawer bed
A traditional bed with a second bed that pulls out like a drawer. Right for a family with one or two children. The children will want the drawer.
In short
- The Blue House, 1912
- 3–4 people: a queen bed and a traditional drawer bed
- Private bathroom, with a bathtub
- Breakfast included
