Five rooms in Viscri
Five rooms, in two buildings. Two are in the Blue House, built in 1912 by Johann Dootz. Three are in the New Barn, a wooden barn from 1869, converted so it can be lived in. We have been restoring them since 2016, with craftsmen from the area and materials made the old way: painted tiles, handmade bricks and roof tiles, oak beams.
There are only five rooms, so they fill up early, especially in summer and at weekends.

Johann’s Room
The house’s “good room”, where the Saxons received their guests. On the ceiling beam, Johann Dootz carved the year the house was built and his signature. A queen bed and a traditional drawer bed, and a bathtub with carved wooden legs.

The Fräulein Room
The room of the lady of the house, with tiles from Cisnădioara and an armuroi, a painted Saxon wall chest, brought in to replace the one that was missing. The bed was handmade by carpenters in Harghita.

The Walnut Room
Under two layers of roof tiles you can see from the room. The big window looks onto a two-hundred-year-old walnut tree.

Check-in is from 2 pm to 9 pm. Check-out is by 11 am.

What isn’t in the room?
A TV, a fridge or a minibar.
How is the heating?
We look after the stoves and the heating. If you’re cold, just tell us.
Do you have wheelchair access?
No, unfortunately.
How do I cancel?
At least 14 days before arrival, the amount stays with us as credit for another date. Less than 14 days before, or if you don’t arrive, the full booking is charged. Full terms.
